How to Design and Create a Cardstock Gift Box

People love the ideas of creative gift wrapping. Any kind of homemade paper craft can make the recipient so happy with the help of beautiful paper crafting supplies. The things are, you can easily transform any boring, simple, and white gift wrap into any smart, artistic and amazing gift wrap.

You can go with cardstock gift boxes or create some custom high-quality gift box out of the scrapbook paper to stack in your collection of beautifully wrapped as well as coordinated gifts.

You can make the gift boxes of any size that you actually need so here is the formula to make a custom cardstock box with beautiful papers rather than exact measurements.

Materials You Will Need

  • Scissors
  • Straight edge ruler
  • Cardstock Sheets
  • Low-temperature glue gun

Steps to the design of the Box:

You will need to decide the height and width of the gift box first. Add the estimated height two times and width of the box one time to cut the exact measurement of the one side of the cardstock. To find out the depth of the gift box, you will need to add the height two times and depth one times. So this will be enough measurement to design the bottom part of the gift box.

Simply cut the cardstock to the above dimensions. You can opt for square or natural gift boxes which can be terribly easy for you. You can use a ruler to measure the heights and corners of the gift box. Draw the pencil lines connecting the marks that you have made while measurement and you will see a square in the centre and four perfect squares at all the corners.

You will need to fold the paper along the lines after scoring along those lines. You can also use scissors to cut along any of the edges of these corners. You can use a low-temperature glue gun or double stick tape to glue the square corner on opposite sides. Once you are done, simply glue on all of the sides and you are done with the bottom part of the gift box.

You can do the same thing to create the lid of the box that is used to make coloured gift boxes with lids. You can make the centre square a little larger instead of making sides lid shorter.

Seems easy right? The gift box will work perfectly with the other coordinated presents. You are ready with your cardboard gift box, simply place your awesome gift and be cool between the crowd.
